Hi
Some of the causes for left sided chest pain can be:
Cardiac conditions such as ischemia, hypertension, pericarditis, valvular disease
Respiratory conditions : Infection of lungs, pulmonary hypertension, emphysema
Abdominal Conditions: Ulcers, liver disease, splenic disorders,
Chest wall problems: muscle pain, herpes
Other conditions: anxiety, stress, medications
You should consult your doctor for a complete evaluation and investigations as some of the causes for chest pain can be serious and could result in long term complications.
Take care and do write in if you need more information.
Regards
You should have your doctor do a stress test. This is where they make you walk on a tread mill while hooked up to a machine that checks your heart. They let you walk for three minutes or so at a certain pace, then increase the pace your are walking to a higher pace of walking for the next 3 minutes and so on until you are done or cannot walk any longer due to medical issues. A cardioligist is present when you do this. This test should show up if you have problems with your heart. If this test shows up a problem, then they can send you for further tests. I had a triple by-pass about six months ago and my EKG's always showed up I was fine and had no heart problems. It was not until I had a heart attack and was in the hospital that a problem showed up on the EKG. The funny thing is that I had a stress test just 10 days prior to my heart attack which I failed and was to have gone for further testing. Just two weeks prior to my triple by-pass, I had a complete physical which included an EKG and the EkG was normal. With pain on the your left side like that, you should really be further investigated by your doctor for heart problems. How does your doctor know it is a fatty liver? Did he test you for this? Wishing you all the best. Take care.
