Unfortunately things like this happen. It sounds like you tried to do your part by trying to get over it, so, you tried your best. Best thing to do now is look ahead to better times, find groups that share your same interests, and look forward to a new life. It will take awhile to adjust, but, in time, you will be able to do it and probably be happier in the long run for it.
