I must be part man b/c I have selective hearing too.  I only listen if something is interesting.  This is very rude I know.  I'm working on it.

Selective hearing is right!  haha.. and when you say it the second time is becomes NAGGING.  I tell ya, men are a pain in the butt, but we love them anyways!

LOL!  Yeah, most of the time they're looking at some - any! - female while we're yakking and they're thinking, "Yeah, I would!" or "No, I wouldn't!"  When you really need their attention, sometimes you just have to grab 'em by the ears and force them to look you in the eye while you speak your piece.  

Seriously though, with anyone (male OR female, but particularly men) with whom you want to make a big point in conversation, involves spelling out the details.  SeriousSam is right on that one.  Men in particular don't read minds, and they certainly don't read body language.  What is obvious to women is oblivious to ment.  Just the way it is.  It took me a long time to just be blunt and to-the-point with my own husband, and what a huge difference it made!  Pickel, just assume they're about 4 years old and go from there.  ;-)

That's a good question.  I think men are not as attentive as women.  Males, by nature, are more laid back then women, (IMO).  So, their minds are probably in la la land half the time.  However, it doesn't mean that they don't care.  Two of my best friends are male.  They forget half the things I tell them and tell me the same things over and over again. (lol)  It's not that they don't care about me.  If I need them, they are there for me!  They will make the time for me.
