Clot dissolving alternatives

For my father who can not have surgery to remove blood clots in the lungs and warfarin, etc. have not worked.....is there anything else out there that can dissolve the clots?  Since we have the same blood type could we do a blood transfusion if I have the enzyme he doesn't have to dissolve clots?

Thank you.

My father has two small blood clots in his leg below the knee. He can not take Coumadin well and had reactions after several weeks twenty years ago, and now we have been trying alternative therapies with an alternative doctor who is also an MD. We have choses Nattokinase to reduce fribrin which can help dissolve the clots according to European and Asian research, and high Omega 3's which help thin the blood. There are several reliable sources for these products that test the source material in certified US labs. For Omega 3,6,9 we like Nordic brands that test and screen for lead and purity, and the Life Extension (lef.org) brand of Omega 3. The alternative-minded doc recommended something called Lumbrokinase. I don;t know the brand he had in mind, but it was expensive. We are trying these otehrs at the recommended "therapeutic dose" on the bottles (the one we use is Nattokinase by Enzymedica, the dosage is 6 tablets on an empty stomach - which is 6,000 FU's per day) to see the result we get - which can be measured with a frbrinogen blood test. I don't know if the test they give to measure thinness of the blood for Coumadin (which will only thin the blood, not dissolve the clots) will show the kind of result they look for with Omega 3's to thin the blood, but these therapies for us are a better choice. We have been on the higher doses to have the desired effect for a few weeks. Much too early to tell, but he seems to be improving. We are having a fibrinogen test ordered by his alternative doctor after his 3rd week of natural therapy to see what the results are - to see how less "sticky" his platelets are. The breakdown of fibrin is what we are looking for to dissolve the clots. The swelling and pain in his leg has not increased, and if anything, seems like it is getting better. These naturalceutical (I call them that) therapies can not be used with Coumadin from what I've read online, as they act in similar ways to thin the blood and could cuase too much bleeding. Not much can be used with Coumadin. It's a strong drug. It is not recommended to use aspirin with Natto or high Omega oils, since they also thin the blood somewhat. Some people also use Garlic extract to also thin the blood in addition to Omega fish oils  (softgel, not tablet form - and from a healthfood store or reliable source, not a drug store). The up side is that Dad can continue to eat greens, take vitamins and not have the side effects he had with Coumadin. I hope this helps!
