lung heaviness, etc from 2002 blog

I just read the blog from 2002 where several people were describing a set of symptoms including chest heaviness, an inability to get a deep breath, feeling as though you need to lift your breasts, coughing up mucous ocassionally, a pain or burning in the back. The folks mentioned the symptoms crept up and worsened over a number of months, sometimes having started after a bout with bronchitis or the flu.  I am experiencing all of this also, plus deep distinct wheezing when I laugh. A lung xray 9 mos ago was normal. I have looked into asthma, have taken several rounds of antibiotics over the last year since this started, and feel as though it is gradually worsening - it started lower in my chest and is now up high just below my throat, as though someone is sitting on my chest. And my throat feels some pressure too. I am wondering if anyone who had this in 2002 ever found out what it was, if they got over it or got relief. I have had allergy tests and am allergic to the usual stuff. Could that cause these symptoms?

This discussion is related to Tightness and heaviness in chest, difficulty breathing. I need help..

I have similar symptoms. I often have trouble breathing, when I try to take in a breath it will stop & when I finally get one it starts all over.I sometimes can't yawn either.I have a very tight chest pain to where my back burns at the top. My arms are sometimes tingly also. I don't fall asleep till late because of this. It started in July about 5 months ago. The doctor prescribed me with buspirone for anxiety but it has yet to work. I'm 18 & a girl. The passages I've read seem like it's mostly girls with this problem please help.

Most of your symptoms match the signs of being in a state of panic, and of being under traumatic stress, except blood in phlegm. But I guess that these signs can also have a physical origin.  If the problem is from a contagin such as from chemical sprays, the body might be alerting you with these stress related symptoms that something is invading and causing a problem.  Have you had a full blood work done? If so, do the red blood cells look normal?  What is happening with your white cells?  This and more should have been examined.

Ok folks,

Think I have some answers based on my experience, although I'm not a medical professional so can't confirm any of the details. Also I don't have all the answers, but some of this should help.

M symptoms over the last 3 years have varied as follows:

1) tight chest/ shortness of breath
2) Tight neck and shoulders
3) pain in neck and shoulders and back
4) Pins and needles in my arms and shoulders
5) numbness in my fingers
6) Blood in my phlegm

I have had these symptoms for about 3 years now.  I've had physiotherapy, accupunture, ultrasounds, i've had a number of tests done and all have appeared to come out completely normal.

I've been fortunate however that most of my tests have been carried out in and around harley street in london, which is supposed to be among the best doctors in the UK.  the treatment I've had has been separate - it is only after reading this forum that I realised they are all related.

My acid reflux is off the charts - I had a 24 hour test where you stay in hospital, with a tube down your throat measuring the frequency of acid reflux and the amount of acid that comes up.   it came up as being approximately 10 times the number that someone suffering from acid reflux should have.   I also had an endoscopy to see how much damage has been caused.

Having been on acidity tablets (zoton fast tab - one a day, and Zantac - 2 a day) to control the acid reflux.  i've also had to try and cut down on chilli/ spicy food, and alcohol.

the physiotherapist was useless.

An osteopath I see on harley street told me the tension in my neck shoulders and back (and cause the pins and needles, tingling and numbness) are caused by a number of things

1) Breathing incorrectly.  Yep- i thought this was ridiculous when he said it, but tried it and it does work - there is reason to the madness.  A person is apparently meant to have 50 deep breathes a day, in which the diaphragm moves only. Nothing else. He told me to breath deeply through my nose, until i'm bloated and my stomach expands as much as it can.  then release (breath out) through my NOSE again, and keep releasing until I can't release anymore, and  then release some more.  He said if I start yawning, I'm doing it wrong.  As I said before,a person is meant to be doing this 50 times a day to begin with to relieve the symptoms.   Its not physically possible to do this 50 times in one go, so he told me to aim for 10 breaths at a go, then stop and do it again later in the day

2) I Changed my mattress and pillows.  The mattress i was recommended was a vi-spring mattress (although these are horrendously expensive and I chose not to get that as I can't really afford that much).  Instead I bought a latex mattress. For the pillow ... I was recommended the Dunlopillo Super Comfort Pillow

3) The osteopath referred me to a psychologist, saying that the tension is based on stress, and one of the most extremest cases of body tension he's ever seen.  The psychologist made a world of difference.

4) Learning to relax... I actually  can't relax my muscles... there's always some tension in my body and that is part of the problem.  i have to consciously relax my muscles and body.

5) I was told to sleep on back.

6)I was told to get a back nobber... amazon does them.  They come with a manual of how to use it and how to stretch too! I've found it very good and useful.

Also, I've found that pilates is a great way to stretch your body and get out any stress, as well as teaching you to breath properly when stretching / doing exercise.

I try to have a regular full body massage as and when I can as well, although i don't think this is any better than any of the other things I'm doing.

I bought a neck warmer which I put in the microwave and then place on my shoulders every so often, to relax the muscles.

I was told to avoid intense gym work outs, especially rowing, and bicep/ tricep curls.

There are a number of stretches that I was told to do, which are very good for this- i've been given a lot of stretches to relieve the tension in my neck, and pec minor and pec major (which i've been told also cause the pins and needles).  I've had good pilates instructors and the  osteopath have shown me the stretches, as well as the back nobber book that comes with the back nobber.

I generally sleep on my side, and for the last 2 -3 days, i'm beginning to believe that all this started when I switched from two pillows to one, and it seems that if ever i now sleep with 2 pillows, the overnight improvement is incredible.  I think potentially my problem may have had something do to with a lack of support for my neck (so raising my neck higher than normal position seems to help, although it may be the case that other people get the symptoms because of too much support from pillows and therefore their necks may potentially be pushed too far in one direction (this is sleeping on my side).

typing on keyboards is especially painful, and the tension in my neck is made worse by looking down on the laptop screen.  I've had a second monitor installed which is at neck height though.

Finally. I found this article that i think adds some credence to the sleeping information http://hubpages.com/hub/Sleeping-Positions-and-Your-Back

As I said, I'm not a medical professional and have no experience in any medical related field.
This ispurely a recount of my own personal experiences based on the symptoms I mentioned above.

Message to everyone,

Please remember to come back and post an update or progress report for all the future sufferers, and please post your location as close as possible (with state, and general area) so that these reports can be data mined in the future. Also try to give dates of when symptoms started, and/or got worse. It will help with tracking, and many other details.

Imagine if the person who posted in 2002 gave us all an update, or several along the way. Very valuable now, don't you think. Make better use of the Internet.

I noticed there seems to have been a surge of these reports in summer 2009. I myself have been noticing these symptoms occurring after heavy chemtrail spraying days (after lots of tic-tac-toe in the sky), and cannot relate them to anything else. So, Without becoming paranoid over it, I'd appreciate it if you people would also start posting your own observations after "heavy" chemtrail days (since almost everyday is now a chemtrail day) regarding these pre-mentioned symptoms, give a general location, and whether you noticed a "heavy chest" or any other symptoms following such chemtrails.

We are not all having an outbreak of blood clots. But we may be getting something in either food, water, air, or injections. I know for me, its not food, water, or injections.

City water has 450 part per million of all kinds of junk in Albuquerque, New Mexico. So far, there are plenty of news stories about pharma drugs being found in higher than flushed amounts in city drinking water, all over the country. But, I've been drinking home-made distilled water for about 60 days now, and still have these (our) symptoms, so I don't think I'm still under the influence of prozac or a combination of the rest of the chemicals.

I've been avoiding all GM and non-organic food for at least 3 years now, but notice they come out with a new GM food in public long BEFORE they are announced as being out. (And, I notice things like certain cranberry juices got rid of high-fructose corn syrup, but only to replace it with GM beet sugar). GM food tends to kill half the test animal babies). But for me, it's not the food.

I don't take any injections. You wouldn't believe what is in those shots, even if you read it straight from the CDC website; mercury (thimerisol), aluminum, formaldehyde, potassium chloride, and much more junk:
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pinkbook/downloads/appendices/B/excipient-table-1.pdf

So, since all my doctors and tests said I'm normal (one even said I had Lance Armstrongs body, lungs, and heart), I have to assume the cause is related to my observations of a "heavy chest" following heavy chemtrail days. I think it's in the air. What else would hit all of us like a plague?
This guy's video is fairly good for chemtrails, a bit slow, but good. It was made in our state, New Mexico:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCFGjyEcNrk

And, of course, the most important thing I can tell you people of the future...
Only daily vigorous exercise seems to help my symptoms, which has me believing it's related to seratonin levels. I assume this is when my body and lymph system are getting rid of something, presumably acids, toxins, and wastes, and doing a better job with seratonin, and hormone operations. For me, the "heavy chest" feeling also has a congested quality to it. Like asthma without the asthma.

The closest thing I seen about these symptoms is from Chinese medicine. They have something called liver chi stagnation. Follow the diets recommended for liver chi stagnation. Basically, more fruits and veggies, less meat, sugar, and no fried, greasy food. Quit coffee, and caffeines. I believe was helping because its the liver and kidneys that get hit hardest from toxins, and so the biggest help for me was no food, sugar or alcohol after 6 pm. I heard that traditional Japanese diet also says no late dinners. Chinese medicine says the liver needs to be done with digestion before sleeping, so liver can clean blood between 1 am and 3 am. They say if you are waking up between these times, you ate too much junk, too late. You may even wake up feeling hot and irritated.

I have most of the symptoms as all of you have listed. Mine is worst at night, it feels like somethings in my chest, especially if I try to sleep on my stomach (which is how I've always slept). I first noticed these symptoms about 6 weeks ago. The coughing is beginning to start during the day now.

Has anyone had any luck at a diagnosis?

I've read a previous post about this issue. I'm getting the exact same symptoms as everyone else. It's been getting worse and worse for the last 8 months. I went to many different doctors (specialists) and they all suspected asthma (but I never got any asthma attacks). I had many different inhalers subscribed, taking them didn't help much. I had x-ray done, blood pressure taken, other respiratory tests, everything was fine. Additionally my nose seems to be very dry and stuffed a lot. I don't know what to do anymore

Somebody help!

Hi,

I read your post and the ones from 2002. I have the exact same symptoms with the heaviness in the chest, can't get a deep breath, lump in throat area, etc. Although mine only started a week ago, my doctor seems to think it's just stress, but I am already on anxiety meds that have worked just fine and have never experienced these symptoms before when I am stressed. It's kind of scary that no one seems to know what this is and reading everyones posts makes me scared that this will last a long time. Mine started very randomly (I wasnt sick or anything). My right leg all of a sudden was slightly numb and tingled when you went to touch it one night. The tingly feeling spread the the whole right side of my body and went away a day later. Then this stuff started. Please let me know if anyone has an answer to this mystery!

I also read the 2002 blog and then saw the link to this.  I too have been having near identical symptoms.  It is going on a year now.  I wonder if it worsens for you as the day goes on too?  Its constant but seems to be much worse at night for me.  It has progressed each month.  I have an incredible pain in my back below my right shoulder blade, and the heaviness and everything are underneath my breast bone, and radiates into my ribs and underneath my armpit.  Recently I have noticed the wheezing in my throat along with pins and needles sensations in my back, neck, shoulders and head.  I've had numerous tests done, tons of chest x-rays a few ct-scans, blood work, ekg and everything comes back fine.  I have an appointment this friday.  If you have heard or hear anything keep in touch, and I will likewise.
