Persistent cough since 2006

I have been having this persistent cough since Jun 06. I went for chest x-ray, lung check (asthma), scope (I think its endoscope, the kind of scope the doc uses to put into the nose). I have also tried all sorts of medication after the checks; nasal spray, flu medicine, gastric pills etc to eliminate the potential causes. I have also tried traditional chinese medication.
Its been 2 years and I'm still coughing away. Sometimes it gets so bad that there would be a stitch in my mid waist and I feel like throwing up. I have stop all other medication because I think there is no use to it and the docs can only ask me to try the different types of medication.
I will be 29 this year. And I'm hoping to start trying for a baby soon. But at this rate, I don't know if my health will affect my chances of having a baby or even the baby safely.
Is there anything else I should try?

Hi, yes, I did try the omeprazole for 6 weeks. I even tried steriods though I'm not sure how it helps.  The doc did suspect its gastric acid reflux but no improvements after I was put on the drug for 6 weeks.
I didn't test for the worm infestation as I wasn't aware of this. But how is the worm infestation related to the cough?

Hi, did you took treatment for GERD i.e gastroesophageal reflux. In this condition acid reflux back in food pipe and irritates throat causing chronic cough. Drugs like omeprazole, pantoprazole etc are prescribed for 4- 6 weeks.

Other rare possibility is round worm infestation, commonly seen in developing world. Thsi condition is diagnosed by stool test and drugs like albendazole are prescribed (single dose suffcient). Although, you have been through lot of investigations, could try for these too!.
