Phlegm

I am a 91 yr old female suffering from constant build up of phlegm at the back of my throat, which requires my spitting out clear foamy, watery liquid that accumulates every 5-10 minutes.
I have been prescribed Nasonex, anti-histamines, and antibiotics, to no avail, over the past 3 years.

What is the root cause of this condition? diet? environment? copd?

Please send information?

Could also be your diet. I have read and also tried the Blood Type Diet. It does work but you have to be willing to change your diet and let it become habitual. When I tried it I noticed my body really change. My bowels were smoother, more regular and I had more energy. And other benefits as well. Well worth getting the books on the topic.

Don't underestimate us old folks. I am 81 and do most of my work on the computer. My brother is 86 and running two companies. If you are old, and not encumbered with dementia, we actually have a leg up on you kids because we have a greater store of information and experience.

Hello,

My thoughts are that it could be acid reflux.  It can cause the symptoms you describe.  Allergies can cause them as well.  Just a thought.

I have to say KUDOS to you!!  There are not many people your age who would venture to touch a computer, let alone go online and post a question like this.  You are AWESOME. Thanks for embracing technology and using it well.  You are an inspriation to all to never stop growing and learning.

Well, you don't have COPD. If you did you would be coughing up phlegm and your breathing would be compromised. It sounds like inflammation. Try taking schisandra chinesnis. It is an herb that is both anti-inflammatory and drying. There are no side effects. My daughter had a relatively similar problem and this herb helped enormously.
