Same problem here

I have excess mucus production in my throat. It always happens after eating different types of foods, or drinking some like, milk or carbonated drinks or lemonade. I talked to my doctor but they keep on tell me its do to allergies and gave me Nasonex. It would feel better for a little while but when i drink something like choc milk it starts all over again. It is even worse when I eat chocolate or anything with chocolate in it. I don't know what the problem is.

Any suggestions?????

Most probably a food-allergie.
I had the same in a very serious way and found that I have a food-allergie.
Especialy eggs, diary and more.
When I avoid the allergic foods I have no problems.

I have mild but getting worse mucus production and really yucky looking goobies (for lack of a better word). I have found dairy makes it worse, especially milk and ice-cream. From memory I since found that written on a few sites on the web. I also read somewhere that blueberries can help lungs recover from smoking. Thats the extent of my non-substanciated knowledge but it could be worth looking into. If you find out anything please post it here :)

once again same here...see JudyNTexas for details. It always is worse for me when I drink milk, eat ice cream, pudding, but it's a constant thing even when I wake up it's like that. I take over the counter allergy medicines, but they don't provide any reliefe.

My husband has the exact same problem.  After eating, and it doesn't matter what, as well as other times of the day he has excess mucus in his throat and he feels like he has to cough.   He has seen his primary care physician,  an ENT, and a gastroenterologist. He has had an upper GI done and allergy testing.    He is trying Prilosec, but after 6 or 7 weeks, it hasn't helped.     We are desperate to find a solution to this excess mucus.   None of the over the counter mucus relief drugs helps either.

If anyone has any ideas,  please post them.  This is a very distracting problem, and he needs help!
