Hi, I was in a car accident ,had to get xrays.
The doctor said every thing was ok but he was concerned about a questionable mass on my right upper lobe,a CT of the chest was performed from the thoracic inlet to the dome of the diaphragms w/o IV contrast..scarring was present at both apices account for The chest x-ray finding. The doctor said the mass was pleural based. Calcifications are preset in normal size subcarinal and right hilar lymph nodes. A 6 mm calcified granuloma is present at the right lung base. Splenic grandulomas also noted. he said findings with prior granulomatous exposure. No ecidence of pleural of pericardial effusion. No evidence of adenopathy.scarring accounts for the scarring.Grandulomas are present throughout. The chest and spleen consistent with prior grandulomatous exposure. No evidence of malignancy . This was dictated by, MD Maria V Thomas, 12/09/08 @ North Cypress medical center.21214 nw frwy..Houston. I really didn't understand what the DR. was telling me,other than it wasn't malignant.Good you explain to me in laymen terms what this is,caused it and how to treat it? Thank You so very much . Sheila
Hi, you probably have the answer to Granuloma of the lungs, by now, but, if not, it is usually a rare condition called Sarcoidosis. I had this years ago. Although, some Dr's say it sometimes goes away and never return, I am not so sure. My own GP was not convinced either. I have never been the same since I had this condition.
Good luck
