can trapped gas cause soreness, sharp or stabbing type pains in chest?

Hi, i was wondering if trapped gas can cause chest soreness, chest tightness, shortness of breath, stabbing pain which is severe enough to think you are having a serious heart problem. and if the answer is yes, how does one go about solving this trapped gas problem?

Thanks.

Hi, I can't tell you all this is you, but I was diagnosed with costochondritis, which is inflammation of the chest wall after having pneumonia. Every since then I have horrible pain in the chest, that feels like you have to rub it, and it hurts to breathe. There is no cure, but I think gas somehow is related, I hope this helps someone.

Hi...feel same...feel pain in my lower jaws when i walk but no sweating or shortness of breath , which would otherwise suggest Angina pain. Do you feel the same? I have gall stones and maybe that is what causes this gas? take care !

Also smoking & alcohol  makes it worse... If u hav probs @ nite, get up & take a walk & or puke.... Don,t mean to sound nasty, jus tryin to save u all a lot of $,s, that your all blowin @ hospitals.

I walked around. We walk our dog Marley each night and I still hurt. Mine is on going ranging from mild to moderate. It is always in my center and to my right lower of my ribs. I just started treatment for it last week. So maybe I am not giving it enough time. I am just tired of hurting. =(

Well mine is mostly in the center and to the right of my chest.  My doctor said it was caused by gas pressure and wanted me to take imodium to help. I also got prescribed Zoloft to help with anxiety. She said the stress causes acid and gas to build up too much and that was why it felt sharp and dull.  But I still have the issue and it gets worse when I move around and so.  I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Again my doctor said it did not sound related to RA and that most likely it is the gas. I never thought gas could do that to a person. I thought gas stayed in the stomach and intestines but I guess not.  Why is it that mine hurts mostly on my right though?
