For 3 years now every September through December I have these terrible breathing problems..After December the breathing problems disappear....what coincides with this everytime is post nasal drip....I have shortness of breath, tightness of the chest, and chest pain...I"ve had every workup imaginable..I've had CT scans of my chest with contrast, stress test with contrast, Pulmonary Function Test,CT scan of my sinuses, full blown allergy tests..they all came out normal...I did have a methacholine challenge test that did come out positive for asthma but yet none of the asthma meds work...so if I have asthma why don't the meds work and why does it only hit the same time of year...one doctor said I had an onset of adult asthma brought on my acid reflux...I took the acid relux meds but here I am now in October and the breathing problems have started up...it seems to me that this is some type of seasonal thing...and the ONE thing that occurs with the breathing problems is the post nasal drip...anyone have any advice..I'm miserable and I am so frustrated that there does not seem to be anything that relieves the breathing problems...my chest feels like it's constricted.
Thanks,
Caroline
