I was exposed to vermiculite asbestos and asbestos insulation popcorn ceiling and floor tiles also brake pads etc. this was probably a moderate to heavy exposure for a an hour. What can I expect from this exposure? It was eight years ago and a chest X-ray result from a b reader was negative. I've talked to many mesothelioma specialists and scientists and they said my chance of getting mesothelioma is only about 5% at the max and that it usually comes with heavy exposure. I read a scientific article that showed that chrysotile asbestos is removed from the lungs by macrophages after about 9 months. But other types of asbestos take longer to leave the lungs and some of the amphibole fibers never leave the lungs and cause more damage. I'm also wondering if there is a doctor in the Detroit area that anyone to do a bronchoscopy to see if there is still asbestos fibers in my lungs.
