tightness and chest, trouble breathing, but no coughing or pain

I am a 14 year old girl, and I have trouble breathing. I don't feel any chest pain or anything, but it always seems like I can't get enough air. This actually started when I was 8, then it went away from a couple of years. When I was 12, I started having trouble breathing after, and sometimes during exercise. I had pneumonia when I was 6 and was misdiagnosed as having asthma. I used an inhaler for quite a long time. Is this somehow connected to my breathing problems? I don't think its stress, because I'm not stressed at all. Or at least, I don't feel stressed. I haven't gone to see a doctor yet. Should I see a doctor about this?

I have the same exact problem! I first felt that feeling of I can't get enough air when I was ten or eleven. Also, after he feeling reoccurred, my father told me to use his inhaler because he has asthma and suspected (just like you!) that I had asthma. But his inhaler did nothing. I haven't been to the doctor because he feeling is so sporadic I thought it was just me... I am a fourteen girl also and it's very nice to know someone knows what this feels like. Sorry I couldn't help you...

You should se a doctor.  My guess would be that your asthma diagnosis was not wrong.  Get this checked out as soon as you can.
