will this cough ever cease!?!?

About a month ago, I developed a cough. At first it was productive and I was coughing up some interesting substances. But a few days after it started it became non productive and progressively worse! It got so bad by week 2 that I often lost control of my bladder during a coughing spell. Several times I've coughed so deeply at times that my gag reflex is triggered and I vomit. This cough has kept me awake, kept my husband awake, and affected my abilities to do my job efficiently. I do not have insurance, so a doctor visit is out of the question. I had "diagnosed" myself with what I thought was bronchitis. After much research I learned that bronchitis isn't always affected by antibiotics. So, I got a nebulizer and some albuterol from a friend and for 2 days it really seemed to do the trick, but now, even though I continue with the breathing treatments, the cough is still as bad as ever! I've all but taken out stock in mucinex. I've tried everything from expectorants to suppresants. At times during a spell I find it difficult to catch a breath. I have no other symptoms. No sore throat, no congestion, no sinus pressure. What gives? Could this be something serious? I sound like Betty Davis! Ha ha! Help!!!

You need to see a doctor. It could be anything from an infection to something serious.
