How long can STI/UTI symptoms last?

Someone I had sex with informed me that they had been treated for an sti after experiencing burning pee and discharge. I was fine up until then but also started experiencing burning pee the next day. No discharge. I went to a clinic and they gave me a shot of penicillin and a single dose of Azithromycin. That was the Monday but by the Saturday nothing had changed so I went to a doctor. He tested for any UTI infection but it was clear. Gave me a single dose Cifixme 400mg and a 7 day course of Doxycycline. By the following Friday I still had the burning sensation so I went to a second doctor. He gave me the same medication ( Cifixme & Doxycycline) plus a 7 day course of Flagyl. It is now more than a week later and I still have slight burning sensation. I must mention the burn is more afterwards than during urination and I still have no discharge. I'd like to know how long these symptoms are going to last? I've also been drinking loads of cranberry juice to ease the pain. I'd like to know if the sti is cleared now after three rounds of antibiotics over 4 weeks. How soon can I have sex again? Can I have sex while experiencing the slight burn and how long do I wait before going to see a doctor gain?
