Normal pap, but HPV positive

I recently received a Pap smear  last week and was diagnosed with HPV.

I’ve only had 2 sexual partners and I used a condom with both of them .

I have no genital warts , but I’m afraid of getting cancer .  My doctor said that my cervix looked fine and at the time of the smear she did not see anything abnormal.

I just lost my virginity last year also . When I was a Virgin , I did have genital to genital (outercourse ) contact .

Should I be worried about my HPV?

Tomorrow I am going to have another Pap smear to confirm with another doctor (I’m sure the results won’t change )

I do have a boyfriend and we did have oral ,but at the time I didn’t know I had hpv . I am going to tell him about it after I get another test.

I just very worried :(.

No, do not worry.  For most people the immune system makes the virus go dormant in 2 years, but you should get checked yearly because high risk hpv can lead to cervical cancer.  Also, you might use protection for oral sex because HPV can lead to oral cancer as well.
