Pharangeal Gonorrhea or Thrush

This fourum seems to get some great responses. I'm glad I found this place.

I'm a 37 years old female.

I've recently had intercourse ( about three weeks ago) with a 34 year old gentleman who is promiscuous.

We used condoms for vaginal sex, but did NOT for oral sex.
He did not ejaculate in my mouth, but there was some pre cum.

I ended up getting a tooth infection a few days after the encounter.

I took a high dose of amoxicillin (500mg) three times a day.

My throat started hurting quite a bit. So did my tongue. Mouth was very dry.

After a visit to the Dr, I was diagnosed with oral thrush upon visual examination. I was told it's possible from the antibiotics.

I was prescribed Nystatin , and stopped the antibiotics.
I was told to swish the Nystatin in my mouth.

My throat seemed to be ok for a couple of days after the Nystatin was finished.

My tooth infection then came back, with a vengance.

I went back on antibiotics, and my throat became very sore again.

Went back to the Dr, and told them I'm still having symptoms of thrush. He did NOT inspect my mouth or throat, and gave me a prescription for a stronger version of Nystatin, and two doses of Dyflucan. I was told to swallow the Nystatin this time,as I hadn't been doing that prior.

I haven't taken antibotics in a week. I had the tooth pulled four days ago.

My question is...

Is this more likely to be thrush again, or could it possibly be gonorrhea in my throat?

What are the chances?

I've read it's rare to have gonorrhea in the throat, is this true?

I'm so awfully embarrassed.

Thank you in advance for any answers!

Hi the thing about Gono in men is that if its an active infection in his penis he would not allow you to give him oral nor would he be having sex as the pain in this penis would be to much. Also to get oral gono his penis would need to make rubbing contact with the back of your throat as the infection prefers soft musus areas like that to infect. I would rule out gono. Yes it rare  for the above reasons.
