Possible STI Concern

My question is regarding possible concern for STD/STI. About a week ago i noticed two small red bumps on rim of penis. (Barely raised if not any) I have experienced no pain/itch or pain during urination, fever, etc etc. One however after a long walk must have cut open due to friction with boxers and fluid like that of a zit was released (a clear fluid with a yellow color when on tissue.) Its now been a week and they are disappearing more and more each day. They never scabbed over. Almost like a zit on a face, the coloration is fading away. What can this be???

Haha, paying for advice is a ridicuous expectation for there is nothing a "herpes sensei" can diagnose through a computer screen. And yes, all the articles online have feed me with as much knowledge one can know about this virus. I appreciate the sarcasm however

well I'm sure what you've read online beats the things I know.

the majority of people who have hsv1 orally, don't get obvious cold sores to know it either. This is why seeking out type specific herpes igg blood testing is important periodically to keep an eye on herpes status, both hsv1  and hsv2 when sexually active.

I really don't see this going anywhere helpful at this point. If you have further questions, please pay to post to Terri Warren, Our herpes expert here on medhelp.

Well seeing as I don't have HSV1 and have never had a record of any cold sores or blisters on mouth region what you said would'Nt apply. And your number is incorrect, 100% of people don't know they have HSV2 till they are tested. It is impossible to make a self diagnosis or diagnosis based off of simple visual appearance. Only results can prove it because herpes can look like so many other conditions and vise versa. It is'nt hard to be considered a "herpes expert". I would say im one too, when I had that little scare I researched the STD for endless hours, there is nothing about this virus that I do not know about haha. Its called the internet, dear.

actually over 90% of folks who have hsv2, don't know it until tested. if you have hsv1 prior to contracting hsv2, it takes the 'edge" off the initial ob and that is why most folks are unaware that they have herpes.

I am actually a herpes expert dear, I don't make up stuff and I certainly don't post myths and facts!!

Most folks? I believe thats incorrect, I went to a doctor. Negative across the board. "Most folks" very well notice their first outbreak, for it is the worst one due to the virus's new presence to the immune system. I noticed while I was on here that you have much activity on this website when it comes to responses. You shouldn't respond based off myth and exceptions however fact. Fact is most reports for genital herpes are stated to have a very noticeable first outbreak for it is the worst. Just an opinion

most folks don't notice their initial symptoms of herpes or they attribute them to something else. you really can't judge when you notice symptoms as to if they could be herpes related or not.

you and your partners can't make educated decisions about what precautions to take until you know who has what. the rates of genital hsv1 in your age group are pretty high so you can't decide how to protect yourself or a partner until you both are aware of your status which is why routine herpes testing is important.

It is possible but unlikely. Herpes normally appears within two weeks after exposure. It's impossible to give odds but just know that this really doesn't sound like herpes at all. As said above if these bumps return see a doctor.

One more question, just because I like as much assurance as possible :)

Does herpes ever have a first outbreak proceeding 3+ months of contracting the infection? And if so what are the odds of that happening?

yes to both of your questions.

call and see if type specific herpes igg blood testing is offered at your college clinic. some do offer it but most don't. worth asking to find out.

should you get a return of symptoms, be seen promptly for a proper exam.

Would these bumps from irritation take a little over two weeks to fully disappear like they have? And would they have a fluid substance like they did?

This sounds more like irritation than Herpes but it would be worth paying the doctor a visit if these bumps return any time in the future.

Also the last time I was involved sexually was a one night stand back in early may. The girl was a fellow college student, and I used a latex condom. I might also add that about 2-3 weeks ago after urination I used tissue paper to clean the head of my penis. After doing so little bits of toilet paper stuck to the skin and would't come off so I let them be with no worry. Could doing that have caused this issue? They almost seem to be in the same spots as where the toilet paper was but im unsure.
