Prescribed dosage

I had unprotected sex with a girl about 6 months ago, a few days later I noticed a rash that began to appear (redness on penis head, mainly around tip). I went to the doctors who told me it was not herpes and did a test for chlamydia and Ghonnorea, both of which came back clean. He then prescribed me a cream because he thought it was derminitis. It did clear up the redness a bit but there was always redness around the tip of the penis and it was always back to being more irritated in the morning. I then began to notice that it seemed to be caused by a discharge. I went to the doctors again to did a swap test for clamydia and ghonnorea, which again came back clean. A few months later as it was still there not getting any better or worse, I went back to the doctor who said that it would probably be NSU. He didnt seem to have much idea, but after doing my own research it seemed to match the symptoms. He prescribed me doxycyline to take once daily (100mg) for 2 weeks. I am only a few days into treatment and havent noticed any real different and after reading up the the general dosage for NSU and in general STD's, I read that in all instances the dosage is 100mg twice daily.... (200mg daily) for 7-10 days. If I am not taking the required dosage will it not work?????

Help would be greatly appreciated!

you can get prostate infections at your age dear. your symptoms are suggestive of prostatitis so if the correct dose of doxy doesn't take care of symptoms for you, a manual exam is a good idea to look for inflammation.

it's unfortunate that he's treating you without any + urine testing - it's pretty much guessing.

Go grace, no I haven't had my prostate checked, I am only 21. He had a look then diagnosed it as NSU based on my symptoms and previous tests clearing clamydia and ghonnorea. With redness (mainly around tip, worse in morning for irritation), occasional discharge (have seen it a few times) and slight burning/warm feeling, what else could it be?? Driving me insane and in Australia it takes weeks to get in to a good doctor you have to pay for, so I have to go bulk billed doctor clinics who are all rubbish!
