VDRL negative (I took Zithro), TPHA postive, Have suggestive symptoms

Had sex

1 week: took Zithro 1g

4 wks: got 2 shiny red patches on glans

11 wks: got rash on torso and palms

12 wks: VDRL, non-reactive. TPHA, positive.

The TPHA could just be showing a past and healed infection, right?

Could Zithro have aborted it if symptoms persisted?

So, went back today.

The other lab not only did a TPHA, but also their own VDRL (which turned out to be positive 1.32).

So,the original hospital's VDRL gave me a false negative?

Hi 2 grams have shown to treat early syphilis and if someone had syphilis in the past the TPHA will be positive for life as picks up antibodies so if the VDRL is non reactive it would indicate you dont have syphilis. What was your exposure?

Thanks for your response.

I thought 1g would abort incubating syphilis?

Exposure was oral and vaginal.
we cant confirm medication doses only a doctor can
Thanks

What do think about the presence of symptoms and negative VDRL?

The doctor was happy with my negative VDRL, until I showed him my palms (the test was done with nurse before I saw doc).

He begain asking questions, like "itching?", "taking medication?" He was trying to find another cause, but couldn't so he ordered the TPHA test to confirm the symptoms.
