Did you mean to say HSV2 is causing your cold sores? Most cold sores are caused by hsv1, not hsv2, which is almost always a genital infection.
If you have hsv2 genitally, definitely research this product with someone very knowledgeable before putting it on your genitals. If it's on your mouth, that's safer to just give it a try.
I don't, but a company called Herb Pharm makes a tincture of it and they are one of the best herbal products companies around. You can telephone them and ask. You can also just google it and see what comes up. Although this product has some anti-viral properties, that isn't its historical use, and I don't know it to be a main treatment for cold sores herpes virus. Usually that's lysine or lemon balm (melissa), but if this works for you, that's great. You can try it and see, it doesn't appear to have much in the way of known side effects, but again, when in doubt, talk to someone who knows about it, and Herb Pharm would be a good place to start.
Most things like this have zero documentation that they work. They are sold in health food stores by people who aren't really trained to give medical advice. It probably won't hurt to put it on your cold sore to see if it helped, but they sell over the counter medication that is proven to help through medical studies. I'm not sure why you wouldn't just go with that. and you say hsv2 in your heading of your post (which is genital herpes). I would treat with medically studied prescription medicine if you are diagnosed with Hsv2. Either when you feel an outbreak coming or suppression therapy to prevent outbreaks.
Warts are also not well documented with this product. talk to your doctor is my best advice.
