Anall and vaginal itching

I am a female and for the past year or so usually after my period ends, if start to get vaginal itching on the outer area, not the lips.  No discharge, but itching that starts and gets worse and to a bigger area.  I used to think it was yeast, and even though the yeast meds helped, it returns way too often, like the past two months in a row.  I also have had anal itching on the skin surrounding the anus and hydrocortizone and witch hazel helps, but like next month it may be back.  I really don't suspect an STD because I have been married a really long time, but yes I have worried about infidelity on my spouses part recently, but he appears to have no symptoms of anything.  Also I tend to believe him that nothing occurred (its a long story).  So I want to go to the DR. to get checked for all the above so to speak, but til then, do many women have this itching deal?  I am 43 and I have had 5 kids.  I am slim and in pretty good shape and otherwise quite healthy and on no meds.  I have never had an abnormal pap, and the one last Feb was normal.  I am mystified and if yeast, there is no discharge or smell.  This last time I used yeast med., and I think I irritated my condition because after using it for the course, I had sex and then it burned to urinate because I irritated myself from the sex and made the skin all  raw from whatever was going on and for about 3 days it hurt to pee, but that hasn't ever happened before.  Any ideas anyone?

I think you need to see your doctor and get checked for bv, yeast, and stds.

That's the only way you'll figure it out.

WEll, it happens other times too, but seems to start after my period is over.  ??  So I couldn't really say it was def. related to my period.  But if I have a time when it isn't happening, then it seems to happen the next time after my period comes and ends, so I guess basically in between cycles.

I wonder, since its happening with your period, if it isn't something hormonal.

I would also get checked for bacterial vaginosis.
