Are all warts an STD?

First of all, why do we ALWAYS have to pay for medical help? I don't have the money to ask these doctors online... I don't have health insurance, either. But, whatever! Please read this and pass on any info that you can share. I was married for 17 years (only sex partner)...Afetr divorce, had a boyfriend for 10 years(only sex partner)...then my boyfriend and I broke up and I spent a summer with someone special...Now two years AFTER the summer romance, I have what seem like genital warts...Is it possible after 2 years?

Has anyone ever had warts near their genitalss that ended up being NOT an STD, but something else???

Please let me know.

I wish I could go to see a doctor   :-/

I wish the doctors here online would answer my question without charging me money that I do not have

:-/

Thank You friends for helping me.

Just a suggestion.  Try your local health department or planned parenthood.  They may offer free papsmears and std screening.  You really need to be seen.  There are many forms of HPV and the ones that cause warts are not usually the ones that may cause cancer.  But that doesn't mean that you don't have them as well.  Really.  The HPV forum is the best place for your questions.

Thank you for the clear and concise info that you gave to me.

I haven't been to the doctors in about 10 years (no health insurance)...I guess I should go...

I have only had two lovers in my lifetime: My husband for 17 years, then a boyfriend for 10 years...

Can HPV be detected when there are no visible warts? I ask this because I did see Docs on a regular basis when I was married, and no one ever diagnosed me with HPV.

I don't know... How could I have an STD since I have never slept around? My husband didn't cheat on me-i know that for sure...nor did my boyfriend.

They had sexual encounters as teenagers..maybe they got it back then (without warts ever seen)???...then passed it on to me and it lay dormant until now???

I am confused.

Whatever?!... I should just go get a check-up...

Thanks for your help. I truly appreciate it!

I'm afraid the vast majority of warts in the genital area are in fact one form or another of an STD....usual HPV. HPV can hide inside the body for years, even a lifetime, without any symptoms or external signs. Then, for no apparent reason, suddenly appear in the genital area as warts. However....20% of us (North Americans) have HPV so it is not uncommon nor the end of the world. There is no CURE for HPV but there is TREATMENT for the warts, albeit sometimes only temporary with recurrence being common.
Please don't fret so much. But....DO see your gynecologist as soon as possible. HPV can cause cervical cancer in women if untreated and not continually monitored. Also, out of respect and common courtesy, have tour sexual partners wear a condom for your and their protection from now on.
