Red around Penis Head, several weeks Itchy Anus

I am a male, 35, married.  Had an unprotected encounter about 2 months ago.  Afterwards I felt burning during urination, and the head of my penis (around the head, not on the top) turns red and feels kind of sticky.  The redness comes and goes quickly it seems.  After 1 month had an STD test and came back positive for HSV2 and negative for all other things.  Doctor said it was probably an old infection.  Since the test (another month) the head of my penis is still a little red off and on, and feels a little sticky.  Now my anus itches, and has for a few days now.

Note:  Before my STD test I took Bactrim and Amox for about a week.

I am a male heterosexual.

you need to confirm your hsv2 igg with a herpes WB - it's not likely you really have herpes.

have you gotten any lesion cultures done on fresh symptoms or anything? what testing have you had in the last few months?

Its been a while, and may I say miserable.

The redness in the penis is pretty much gone.

Another HSV test(3 now) after 5 months and it was a 1.2 again (same as first).  That is 2 - HSV 1.2 and 1 - negative

I have had a sore perineum and bottom off and on.  I haven't noticed any sores.  I feel pretty good right now (after about 3 weeks of major discomfort).  I noticed a small bump under the skin just outside the anus.

The doctors don't have a clue, and didn't give me the HSV tests I had that done on my own.

What now - Herpes or something else.  Do I even have herpes

a hsv2 igg of 1.2 is a very low positive and not likely to be a true positive. follow up testing that is negative typically means it was a false positive.

since this was a partner that isn't your regular partner, I recommend erring on the side of caution and repeating your herpes igg tests 1 more time at the 4 month mark just to err on the side of caution. also hiv testing isn't accurate until the 3 month mark so consider repeating that too.  same with if your syphilis testing was done prior to the 6 week mark.

I just got tested again.  The first tese was 1.2 for HSV2, the second test was negative.  Now I am completely confused.

I can best help you with the herpes test results if you get a copy of them and post them here. all I need to see are the actual numeric results - e.g. hsv1 igg 4.3 and hsv2 igg .34 or whatever they are. that way we can be sure you were properly tested and don't need additional testing done.

I am type 2.  I have tried antifungal cream on the head of my penis and it really does seem to work.  Done it for a week now.  The weird thing is one hour it can look normal, and the next a little red.  No blisters anywhere ever.  Yes circumsized

Hi
What type test you had for herpes? is it IGG type specific for virus 1 and 2?
You tested after a month from your encounter which was good period of time but some STD need 3 months to get accurate results include Herpes,Syphilis and HIV.

Have had any symptoms like sore, bilstr? Was your wife tested for STD in past?
