Can trichomoniasis affect my 1st trimester?

I’m 6 weeks pregnant and tested positive for Trichomoniasis, my doctor told me I can’t treat it til im 13 weeks. Can this still affect my pregnancy? So basically will Trichomoniasis have an affect on anything if I’m on my 1st trimester? And will be taken care of when I’m 13 months.

Hi there are false postives for trich so the testing method is important and the recommended testing is the NAAT from  swab of a dischage. Also with trich there would be a green discharge. How were you tested for this?

Discharge isn’t green, truthfully I barely been discharging. And I got swabbed and a urine sample.
