Chlamydia risk with condoms, oral

I had sex with a condom a lot in early winter/spring 2022 with a few female partners while traveling. For 3-4 months i had no sexual contact, roughly until august and I did a test in August which was negative. I'm doubting that tests accuracy, the dr is very disorganized and she has yet to give me my paper results.

Since that test I've only had 5 sexual encounters. 3 vaginal with me wearing a condom. 2 were BJ/hand with the women rubbing my penis briefly where her outer vaginal lips. is it possible that I was infected this way? I've read conflicting information.

If you wore a condom, and it stayed intact, there's no reason to question your negative test results. Condoms prevent chlamydia transmission.

Oral sex can transmit chlamydia. How often is in question. We used to think it wasn't found in the throat, but are finding more of it now, and aren't sure if it's better testing or something else.

It's definitely less of a risk than vaginal or anal sex, but there is still a chance.

There is no risk from handjobs.

There is no risk if your penis touches her vulva (her vaginal lips). You need to penetrate her in order to get chlamydia.

If you are concerned about your doctor's organization, you can go to Planned Parenthood for testing, or a local STD clinic. You can also use an online testing site, like STDCheck.com, letsgetchecked.com, ultalabtests.com.

They all run specials all the time, and you can search Google for coupon codes.

Gonorrhea is also a possibility from oral sex - more common from oral than chlamydia is.

Then I'm not sure what to think as I've not had any exposure since my negative test in August. Oral was with a condom as well. This could have been a false positive. I've taken antibiotic treatment anyway. I had no symptoms and the facility where I tested uses coffee cups to receive the sample. The cups are in a stack which previous patients have touched. I wasn't thinking that that would provide enough contamination to matter.
You said your test was negative - when did you get a positive?

Coffee cups? Like styrofoam cups? That's okay. Chlamydia isn't found on the hands. It's an odd choice for an actual doctor's office, and STD testing doesn't need to be a clean catch, but it's okay.

They're using coffee cups. I'm not sure how they handle things after that. My timeline wasn't clear enough:

Feb-April 2022: I had a lot of riskier contacts while traveling but with a condom.

August: I had a urine test for common bacteria. All negative.

In between I had a few contacts all with a condom

Early November 2022 I had a urine test come back positive for chlamydia. I finish my antibiotics in 4 days.

These things point to me getting infected over the last 3 months approximately even though it makes less sense. Is it possible/likely that I picked it up back in April and it survived for 7 months? Assuming my August test results were inaccurate. I've read conflicting information about how long it can survive if untreated. I took some antibiotics shortly after that trip for stomach problems. Would those antibiotics have had a reasonable chance of killing it?

I have a clinic visit scheduled next Tuesday to get better info. I'm wanting to test other things and make sure they aren't an issue. From what I'm reading testing for viral things is fine despite my antibiotics so I could do Hep C and HIV next week. It looks like the antibiotic could cause false negatives on anything bacterial, but I plan to run them anyway for now. How long do I need to wait after my antibiotics are finished to get accurate results for bacterial things?

You definitely do not need to waste your time and money testing for HIV. It's only spread from unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV drug needles to inject drugs. None of your activity is a risk as saliva and air inactivate the virus.  Glad you are going to a clinic next week. I wouldn't look things up or ask questions until then. Get the results of whatever test they feel you need and go from there. And If you tested positive, you treated it. Try not to allow anxiety to overtake your thoughts on this.
After taking antibiotics, you need to wait about 2-3 weeks after finishing them to get accurate bacterial results.

I'd have to think you got a false positive. Or a false neg last time.

Coffee mugs? Is that what you mean? That's so odd.
