Chlamydia that just wont go away

Been diagnosed with chlamydia 6 months ago, after couple of months of treatment of unspecific prostatitis.
All other tests negative: hiv 1&2, syphilis, hep b,c,gonorrhea and the urethral swab.
Treatment consisted: 1g Azithromicin first day, 500mg the second day and 10 days 100mg doxycycline.-unsuccessful.
Second try: 1g levofloxacin daily for 7 days- unsuccessful.
Third try: same as first one.-unsuccessfull.
Fourth try: Amoxicillin + Chlavuonic Acid 2g daily 10 days.-unsuccessful.
Fifth try: same as first one but also unsuccessful.
Sixth try: 1g Azitro. first day, 500 mg second day, and 200 mg of doxycycline for 10 days.

it appears that the last one is also unsuccessful as the symptoms although greatly diminished are still here.

Will you please share experiences or advice. My immune system is not compromised i'm fairly active 29 year old adult.

So a quick Update:

I got the first negative test :) for chlamydia using direct immunochromatography  method.( I'm happy for my self in all honesty.)

My last treatment consisted of :
20 days 2x100mg  doxycycline per day.
5 days 1x500mg Azithromycin per day.
10 days 2x100mg doxycycline per day.

And then a folklore medicine of garlic and white wine.Boiled together 100ml in the morning and before going to sleep for 10 days.(i was quite against this as i'm not a folclore believing guy but it did improved my immune system and my liver conditions, suffice to say that the enzymes were slightly above :).

That being said, i still have mild discomfort in the very tip of the urethra but it is almost unnoticeable.

I'll be doing the second test a PCR a month from now. To confirm the first negative. and after that if it is negative also a third one.

I guess persistence pays off.

Omg I'm so happy for you. That's EXCITING.

How do you take the garlic and white wine? Do you drink it? I imagine the wine burns off? Do you add water?

I'm so happy for you, I actually clapped. :)

Update; Since it was lingering so long i decided to consult with a military doctor who prescribed 20 days of 200 mg doxycycline. I'm starting treatment and will update how it goes.

A quick update: last urethral swab was positive for chlamydia, since I've been through 2 treatments : 500mg levofloxacin daily for 10 days, one month break, and then 1 gram of Azithromycin first day, 500mg the second day followed by 10 days 200mg  doxycycline per day. I don't think the treatment worked, will update once I test again.

Damn I'm sorry. :(
Hello auntielessi, well its the long walk, at least inflammation is reduced, and the pathogen can't live forever in vivo, it is bound to die someday, I plan to outlive it :))
:)

Good.

Since i'm here id give a quick update:

I'm almost a month post circumcision, and it has healed nicely, my fears of additional infection have subsided. It has been  2 weeks after i finished my 7 days course of erythromycin and metronidazole , and there is no noticeable discharge, though i can still see several small red spots on the inside of the meatus and one side is a bit swollen. There is the occasional stinging  and burning at the tip, which points to a ever present chlamydia, at this point both me and the urologist are hoping that in about three months the immune system will  either spontaneously resolve the infection, or the organism will revers its persistent state , however it is i'll be off antibiotics fro 3 months.

How painful was it as an adult?

I really hope you get this cleared up. It sounds like it's been miserable. :(
Not painful at all, morning erections were uncomfortable, but bearable, the more troublesome were the headaches due to the spinal anesthesia, and walking was an entirely new experience. And yeah I'm hoping it will clear up, I'm starting to eye lymecycline as a treatment, however I don't want to do that to my liver.
Oh I'm glad it hasn't been painful. It didn't occur to me that you'd only have a spinal, but that makes sense, I suppose. That must have been an experience lol. Are the headaches better now?

Are they monitoring your liver and kidneys? You've been on a lot of antibiotics for a really long time. :(
There are no signs of decreased liver or kidney function, the antibiotics them selfs, at least the types that i've used, in terms of toxicity ,are not surpassing the occasional consumption of alcohol, plus i have taken preventative measures  to protect my liver. And all of my life i have been on healthy food and way of living  (excluding my ex girlfriend ))) ). The infection never progressed beyond the urethra. So i should be fine, the only concern is that i will develop an intermediate resistance to macrolides and tetracyclines  , though that is a price i'm ready to pay to get rid of this pest....
Oh and no headaches now, they lasted for 7 days, and i discovered that strong coffee was quite effective in preventing them, so those were the 7 days that in my 30 years of life i had to drank coffee ( i do not like it at all :))
Ohh someone else who doesn't like coffee. I'm often the only one lol. Caffeine helps dilate the blood vessels in your brain, helping headaches. It's a trick a lot of people who suffer with migraines use.

Glad to hear your liver and kidneys are healthy. Unfortunately, resistance is always a concern, but I'm with you - I'd deal with that rather than the ongoing chlamydia.

And lol re: the ex-girlfriend. ;)

Have you ever tested for mycoplasma genitalium? Stay off antibiotics for 3-4 weeks, then give your first void urine.

Micoplasma and ureaplasma, I have tested for every reasonable microorga ism that can cause it, the fact remains that the chlamydia persists, as it has been positive for almost 2 years.
So you have a recent postive chlamydia test?
Yep from 30 of January, hopefully, doxy and now erythromycin will kill it with the circumcision removing mediums that can harbour reticulate bodies
If this fails, you could try Moxifloxacin.

So in the long battle against this single cell organism, my newest strategy is, circumcision followed by a course of 2 grams of metronidazole one time then erythromycin 500mg four times a day for 7 days. We will see how it goes, I stopped cefalosporins as it seems the klebsiela is no longer present.

Why the circumcision?
To keep the meatus dry and clean, also it will thicken the glans skin make it less prone for bacteria to attach to it, so it will reduce extracellular organisms from attaching and crawling into the urethral opening.
Ahh makes sense.

Keep us posted and good luck with the surgery. :)
Oh it is already done, I'm 7 days post op. today. Though the spinal anesthesia is causing me a great deal of problems, I have never in my life had a headache, now I can't seem to get relieved of it
