Shiny red spot that dries on Penile shaft

Hi I'm very concerned up a spot that has shown up, I am sexually active and I do not use protection with my partner although she has been tested negative. I have done a lot of research online and it looks as if though it could be a possibility of Syphilis but Im not sure, I do not have Health Insurance at the moment so I am not sure what to do. The Spot is sometimes fairly red and others it is not. It also gets very dry at times and if the skin is stretched out it is not noticeable. I dont experience and pain in urinating, not pain or itching in the spot and it is about a centimeter or less in diameter in the middle of my penis, I can post a picture if it might help, I am just very concerned with it right now.

odds are this is not std related at all. it doesn't sound like syphilis either.

we don't look at pictures as is explained in our read before posting post on the forum.

if this spot concerns you, follow up with a proper exam. You can call your local health department to see what your local low cost/no cost options are as well as planned parenthood charges on a sliding scale and is typically more affordable.

I appreciate the response Grace. I have been trying to look at pictures on the internet for comparison and I cant reallly find much so Im just not too sure. A few months back I also had tiny spots that just showed up on the head and they dry, flaked, an dissappeared. Might you have any idea what it could be?

well dear believe it or not. when medical professionals get training, it's a lot more than just looking at pictures ;)  go and be seen and get answers for once and for all. this probably isn't a std.

I see what you mean and thank you. It's the bigger red spot is covering a blood vessel and has a very tiny dot right on the blood vessel. Just not very cheap for my local testing and I will be leaving for the military in two months. Thanks:]

I'm sure a visual exam is all it's going to take to know if this is herpes or not. doesn't sound like a std at all.

Thank you, I hope it is neither of the two.
