Tested for UTI but negative.

I have been dealing with a pain in the tip of my penis for about 6 weeks now. Went to my doctor described symptoms and was diagnosed with an inflamed prostate and was put on a month of Sulfatrim. Now the symptoms subsided all except for the the pain in the tip of my penis. I went to a urgent care clinic and described once again my symptoms and was asked to provide a urine sample which came back negative but was subscribed 14 days of ciprofloxacin and have been taking it for four days and the pain is lessen but still there. When asked about my urine sample they said that there were no indications of bacteria and wasn't needed to be sent for cultures because everything was at the right levels. Now my question is should I still go for STD test. I had one unprotected oral sex incident about 4 months before any of these symptoms came up but have not experienced any of the typical symptoms of any STD such as discharge or sores.

Thx for the comment Life360. I have not had any of the symptoms described for any of those STDs. I was thoroughly examined during my visit to the urgent care centre but I will consider further testing if anything to eliminate all possibilities.

Hi and welcome. Oral is low risk but doesnt mean no risk. To rule out possibilites, just to rule them out, test for Herpes, syphilis and a possible visual for HPV.
