Diagnosed with Hepatitis C

I was just diagnosed with hepatitis C before Thanksgiving 2008. I live in the Southern California area. And I am looking for on-line support groups as well as in-person support groups. Does anyone know where there is an in-person support group in the southern California area?

I also have been diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease, which is a kidney disease. I am still Thankful though I received a kidney transplant a year later. Now the only problem is that I might not be able to take the medicine prescribed by doctors for Hepatitis C. I was told by a hepatologist that since I take prednisone (a steroid) and because I am already anemic that these things might cause blood cells count to be lowered even more.

Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated. I would like to know what kind of medications others are taking and have you found it helpful.
