Does Chlamydia affect fertility?

Me and my partner have recently been tested positive for chlamydia and we are both half way through our treatment, it could be that we have had a it for a long time but the symptoms only come up recently

we recently read that chlamydia affects fertility and this has us both worried as we both want kids later in life and were wondering:
-how long do you have to have the infection for to cause such damage?
-and can your body recover if you have had it for a long time?

The infertility issue involes the woman as Chlamydia can cause scarring of the fallopian tubes. Chlamydia has not been shown to affect male fertility. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Well the long time is probably a year or more and chances are that you would have more issues then just some symptoms. Let me ask, what symptoms did you or he get?
