Dr. Handsfield

Hope you are doing well.  Just to give you an update on my progress:

7/12 - Visited an Urologist and he prescribed 14 days of Doxy and one dosage of Cipro - The antibiotics had no effect on my condition.

8/10 - Used Miconazole 7 again w/ vinegar for 7 days.

8/30 - Using Lamisil AT for four weeks – Also took one dose of Diflucan.

9/15 – IgG positive for HSV1 and negative for HSV2 at 4+ months post exposure.  My first test didn't include HSV1 test but I am going to assume I had it prior to exposure.

Currently my symptoms are sensitive and irritated glans - particularly in the meatus, itching in the same scrotum area, and daily mild clear discharge (it burns my glans every time).  I am planning ask the Urologist to prescribe metronidazole per your previous advice.  Please let me know if there are any other possibilities to my symptoms.

You were right about negative for HSV2!  Thank you again Dr. Handsfield, you really put my mind at ease the past 3 months.

This discussion is related to Irritated glans and likelihood of Herpes?.

it's been too long since you paid in the experts forum so they won't allow any more posting. there is a time limit on how long you have to post updates. If you want additional advice from HHH/EWH, you need to pay to post again. If you've posted already 2x in 6 months though they automatically kick you off over to here too.

nothing you've posted about sounds std related.

fyi - don't use vinegar at the same time as topical antifungals.

you should continue to see your provider for exams as needed.  really not much else an online forum can do to help you.  just saved you the money you would've spent to talk to the experts again.  only so much anyone can do when you aren't their patient they are seeing face to face and things have been going on for so long.

I was trying to update Dr. HHH my status but the discussion was closed.  It defaulted me to this related forum.  Hopefully he will reopen the discussion so this one can be closed.  Sorry!
