Gonorreha treatment times

I contracted gonorrhea and was promptly treated and symptoms resolved quickly after the shot. My medical provider told me to wait 5 days before having sex again. At 6 days I had unprotected sex. I am now reading online that the CDC recommendations are to wait 7 days. Should this be a concern for my partner? Thanks.

Thanks very much. I was only intimate with the person who I contracted it from between my exposure and treatment. That's quite a weight off my shoulders.

The CDC advice is pretty arbitrary, intended to provide a big margin of error. In fact, people with gonorrhea generally are non-infectious within 1-2 days of starting treatment. Don't worry about it. (Of course your partner also should have been treated, if the two of you had had sex after whatever exposure was the source of your infection.)
