HPV PREVENTION

My girlfriend has hpv and we have been together for a while we havent had sex yet and im wondering is it safe she went and got treated they did something with tissue and then gave her a antibiotic i belive theres al this talk about skin to skin and she also told me about it. she says it goes away and comes back but im pretty sure i could still get it even when it doesnt show up... the doctor told her to come back in november for a check up i have recently been che ck and have nothing and want to stay safe but also want to experience the intamcy with my girl friend please help me what should i do...?

Well, as I said, condoms reduce the risk by about 70%.

Is this someone you are expecting/hoping to be with for awhile?  If its someone I really liked, I would probably go ahead with sex, using condoms.  If it wasn't someone I could see being with for awhile, then I would wait.

That's just me personally.

she has not had a break out and it was april that she went to the doctor i belive we have been talkinga bout having sex but i dont know if i should take the chance... i know the skin to skin is a good way to get it so whats my chances i dont know what to do...?

Condoms reduce the risk about 70% for HPV, so you can use condoms.  You could also talk to your doctor about getting the HPV vaccine.  Its currently FDA approved for women only, but many men have gotten it from their doctors.  You would probably have to pay for it yourself, and its usually about $100-150 per shot, and there are 3 shots over a period of time.

How long has it been since she's seen her doc?  Is she getting visible warts, or abnormal paps?  How long has it been since either of those happened?
