Strip Club

Hello Doctor,

In June 2010 I went to a strip club. I got a lap dance from at stripper there and she unexpectedly performed unprotected oral sex on me- the whole encounter last about 5 minutes. At that point I had no issues.

3 months later on September 25th 2010, I went to the same strip club and got a lap dance. The stripper pulled down my pants & underwear, and sat on my lap (she didn’t have any cloths on) to performing the lap dance. There was no oral or sexual intercourse. I assume my private parts might have touched her private parts (maybe, but I was not hard).  About 4 days later I noticed 2 circular cuts on both sides of my penis near the tip on the skin (not the head), not blisters. However, I did masturbating during that time so I might have torn the blisters. I had no burning or other common symptoms besides inching or a weird feeling.

Once I noticed the 2 circular cuts on my penis, I went and saw my doctor, who tested me for all common STDs. The results he said were negative. The test results were as of 10/7/10. He concluded that I didn’t have any form of STDs based on my test results and the symptoms, and his examination of my penis area. He said “it didn’t look like herpes”. It didn’t burn when I urinated, the cuts were not painful, only thing was that the whole area itched and felt weird. I still had my doubts so I asked him for a second opinion and I went to an urologist. The urologist examined my private area (even though IF it was an outbreak it was on the tail end) and said he did not believe it to be any type of STDs as well. He prescribed a steroid cream (Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate cream) and all the cuts / circle spots vanished. He also mentioned that skin irritation and cuts might be do to masturbation.

Since the first cuts / circle spots appeared in late September I did not masturbate for about 4 months. I did have protected sex with my partner. However, I started to masturbate again about 3 weeks ago and once again I noted 2 circle spots on my penis and discoloration around my balls, and also inching. The spots were not at the same location as the original ones. Besides the two strip club encounter, I’ve only slept with one woman, who I’m confident does not have any STDs.

Do you think this is Herpes? Could the doctors have misdiagnosed me?

What else could it be?

In the first encounter at the strip club, in order for me to get herpes, the stripper would have to have blisters around her mouth? I know that my private area did not touch her vaginal area during that encounter the first time.

How can I get to the bottom of this?

How can I be absolutely sure that its not an STD?

only gonorrhea and chlamydia were accurate at that point and they were never a risk from this.

Was my STD test (blood and urine) performed too early? The test was
about 10 days after I notic the symptoms and 12 days after the encounter.

Thanks so much.

this doesn't sound like herpes going on.

the risk of a std from these encounters is low.  Always in your best interest though to keep your pants on at a strip club - skin on skin contact can be a risk. If you have a regular partner, you don't want to put them at risk needlessly.

the best thing to do is to be seen again for a proper work up. sounds more like irritation or even a fungal infection than anything but best to be seen to confirm that.
