HPV

Hello, I have a question regarding HPV...I have had abnormal pap back in 2003, which I had a colposcopy done.  In the end the results of said biopsy were inconclusive due to not enough volume of tissue being used.  So, I am left not knowing why I had anbormal cells.  I can understand that I might have HPV but is there any other way of having that even w/o having HPV?  Thanks!

ask for the hpv dna test at your next pap. it will tell you if you still have an active hpv infection on your cervix or not.

best of luck!

They did colposcopy back in 2003/2004, it wasn't conclusive. I had paps done every 6 months for a while until I was cleared.  Then, every year now.  i do want to make sure it is what I have though.

many things can cause abnormal cervical cells in us gals. I assume they have been doing paps every 6 months on you - have they been normal?

you can ask for a hpv dna test to be done with your next pap to see if you have hpv or not.
