I've got mononucleosis

I've got blood tests having normal IgM number and an elevated IgG number for EBV (and yes, I've been feeling very ill and it NEVER seems to go away completely).
I guess the blood test means I've got mononucleosis (which explains perfectly all the sickness I've been having, as it attacks the whole body and it *****!).

I just wonder if, having caught mono from a guy who's infected with it (and must not be a very nice guy) and having had an episode of high risk intercourse it's possible that I also have contracted HIV.
Is it possible that the 2 diseases can be transmitted together?

I'll be tested for HIV again but I'm punishing myself for not knowing what can happen. If I'm sick, it's "ok", as long as I know, 'cause then I'll know I'll have to take care. Not knowing is the problem.. like I didn't know about mono for months and it was hell. At least now I feel more "comfortable" knowing what it is and that there's no need for medicine. So please, let me know if it's possible to have the 2 diseases at once, just to make me feel better, knowing the possibilities.
I appreciate!

Thank you very much for your response!!

Now I'm really confused. I went to the dr. today with the result of the exams and she said I had mononucleosis in the past, but not now (she said if it were now the IgM number would be elevated, not only the IgG -this is my case - only IgG  # is high). I've been feeling very ill for +2 months and I can't find any explanation that could be affecting me this way except for mono. It's a generalized illness. Or... the worst...
I was kind of "relieved" 'cause I thought I knew what could be going on (mono). Now I don't know anymore..

I had the HIV test not too long after being with the guy.. I'll get tested again at 3 months.

* so the question 1 now is: can I still have symptoms of mono after 2 months  even if my blood test says I've had it in the "past"? (I don't know how past is this past...)

** question 2: I was really silly and went to a cottage to forget about this problem. I came back with 2 ticks attached to my body... Is it safe to take doxycyclin if I have mono?
I've been feeling pain in my left side (chest, armpit, neck) for 3 or 4 days, I don't know if it's from mono (or whatever it is) or from tick bites. I was supposed to have taken the doxycylin before but I don't know if it's safe. One dr. said I should take it, another one said I shouldn't.
I just don't know how to decide!!
Sorry for so many questions... but when I try to "relax" a bit, things get worse....
:(

Yes, its possible.  No, its not at all likely.  Less than 1% of the population has HIV.  If he's not having sex with men or injecting drugs, his chances of having HIV are very very slim.

And chances are he had no idea he had mono - maybe he got sick after, or just felt tired and blamed stress or something.  You seem really angry, and I'm not entirely sure why.  You could have gotten mono if the cashier at the grocery store sneezed when you were paying.  Sometimes, people get sick.  Its really just one of those things, and no reason to be angry.

How long has it been since you were with this guy?  An HIV test at 30 days is 90% accurate, 8 weeks is 95%, and 3 months is accurate.
