How long to wait to test for STD's?

My last sexual encounter was 22 days ago. I am a male and received unprotected fellatio (somewhat long duration and at times, deep penetration in her mouth), some kissing and then protected vaginal sex with a female escort that ended in ejaculation in her mouth via more unprotected fellatio. I plan on going to my local free STD clinic to get screened for STD's. They test for Gonorrhea, Chlymydia, NGU and Syphilis. They don't test for Hepatitis or Herpes.

I don't have any sores, chancres or penile discharge. I dont know if its in my head, but my lower abdominals feel sore and my urine was mildly cloudy a couple of times. I fear I may have contracted a urinary tract infection or urethritis associated with possible Gonorrhea or NGU infection.

How long should I wait to get tested? I've read that you should wait to test for Syphilis after 12 weeks. Should I wait until 3 months have passed to test or should I go ahead and test now after 3 weeks? If I test now, would my Syphilis results be accurate? Thanks for your response. I appreciate your medical opinion.

That area isn't a typical spot for a herpes ob, and is very common for acne, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Those are the only ones you need to test for.

Also, should I be worried about any other std's when receiveing unprotected fellatio besides the ones I mentioned?

Thanks AJ. She did have some slightly noticeable acne like marks in the area between her bottom lip and her chin. Not sure if these are herpes lesions or sores. If they were, and I contracted herpes, would I know it with symptoms? I haven't had any outbreaks or anything. Thanks.

Oh and your NGU test would be accurate now, as well.

Hi there -

You can test for gonorrhea now.  You had protected intercourse, so there isn't any risk for chlamydia, but often, those two are tested for together, and that would also be accurate now.

Syphilis is accurate at about a month-6 weeks.

Unless you noticed any sores or lesions on her mouth, I wouldn't worry about herpes, but that can be tested for at any time, but will only be considered conclusive it you have it done at 4 months.

Cloudy urine usually has to do with what you've been eating and drinking.  I wouldn't worry too much about that.  You also don't contract a UTI.  That's a naturally occuring infection that has nothing to do with sex.
