Herpes Question

As a kid me and my siblings got blisters around our lips occasionally.  I haven't frequently gotten them as an adult.  About ten days ago I met a girl at a party.  I kissed her neck, put her breasts in my mouth, and then I jerked off.  That is the only contact we had.  Today I noticed a "fever blister" above my lip, in the same place I had them as a kid.  I have also been under immense stress at my job the last two weeks, wondering if there would be layoffs.

So, my question is:  is it possible for me to catch "new" herpes from someone even if I already have had lip blisters during my life?  If so, was that contact sufficient for me to "catch" it?

thanks.

The only contact I had with her genitals was rubbing her groin with my hand through her tights & underwear.  Some moisture was on my hand after rubbing it on her tights, but that is the only "genital" contact.

Do you think there is enough here that I should get tested for HSV-2, or do I chaulk this up as an HSV-1 outbreak?

no, you most likely have HSV 1 and have not had an outbreak for a long time but due to the stress lowering your immune system and are experiencing one now. also you did not have any penetration or contact with her genitals so HSV II is not a concern at this point. If anything you may have put her at risk for HSV1 if she's not already infected as HSV1 is common

there is more information on HSV and the herpes community would be where you want to go for that information.
