17 weeks is good for all STD's and HIV. Hep...post in that community.
Its been a week and no response, I take it that my post is too old? My question remains the same, although I think everything is fine.
Sorry to bring up an old thread, just been awhile thought I would drop in. With a test 17 weeks from the day I had sex with this girl be accurate? Conclusive even? With a negative test for hepatitis, hiv, chlamydia, herpes, gonorrhea, syphilis, should I now move forward from the whole STD scare? Or should I get another test at 6 months? Also, are there any other STDs I should have them check for, or is that about it? Thanks.
Chlamydia can occur in the eye (conjunctivitis). You would have to have rubbed your eye after touching infected fluid.
Hey, still waiting for the three or four month mark, was just dropping in with a quick question. Are there any Stds that could cause "pinkeye"? As in; would the eye have to be exposed to genitals, or would it just occur as an Std symptom? I researched into this some, but nothing outright answers what I am trying to ask, hoping you could help.
Yeah, im going to just wait. The more I think about it the more I figure its just high anxiety, my scrotum never touched anything, when I had sex I just pulled my penis through the zipper part of my jeans, and as my doctor said if anything there would be signs on the tip or shaft of my penis...Thanks for all the fast response and good insightful information, its just a waiting game now, expect the best, be prepared for the worst. Thanks 2terrified.
Well, he can't test the bump now that it appears to be healing. So, the next step is to wait until antibodies build up for a positive test IF what you have going on is herpes.
No, I did not try to pop it. It seems to be healing I guess, I called my doctor, once again he replied hes never seen herpes on the base or scrotum, and that what I have could be a number of things. I was thinking could it be a tiny ulcer? Maybe? Once again, my doctor said there would be pain, and that its sorta a given if I had it (herpes hurts). He also said I was a few weeks out if I was going to get an initial outbreak... My balls are itchy and kinda red, but its so hard to tell, I know Ive had itchy balls before....Theres just so much internet information that its overwhelming. Anyways, I agreed to my doctors terms of just waiting till 3 months from exposure and getting tested. Thanks for your fast responses, 2terrified.
It probably got infected, thinned the skin, and it was rubbed off somehow. Did you try to pop it? If so, that is why you are having issues. Stop touching the area, and stop looking for things.
Yeah, thats what my doctor suggested yesterday when i tried to setup an appointment, I have to call Monday now. I got up this morning and it seems to be worse than yesterday, now it looks as those the area is missing skin, its sorta watery, burns to the touch. I guess like skin was scraped off or something, but a very small area. When talking to my doctor I thought herpes, but he said hes never seen it at the base or a single spot...Should I be generally alarmed now? Bright red spot, watery, missing skin? Could this be something other than an inflamed hair follicle?
It is an inflamed hair follicle
Im still waiting to take the rest of my tests, (im almost to 7 weeks). I noticed something new though, at the base of my penis, where the scrotum meets, on the tube thing, a tiny red spot has appeared. It has a tiny white head to it, with a pubic hair coming out, and its red next to and around it. Is this cause for concern? First sign of something?...
You tested at a good time for chlamydia and gonorrhea. You may as well wait and test at one time for HIV, HSV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis. It would be best at 4 months because HSV is not reliable until after 4 months. Be sure to ask for HSV because it is not included unless requested in the US. Better to get billed once then to go repeatedly.
When should I be tested again for STDs then? I went at 2 weeks and everything was negative, I went today but only got an HIV check again. 3 months too? Or should I just go now? Or was two weeks long enough?
If you are referring to HIV, you should post in the HIV community. I do not know the answer to that question.
Yeah, thats what my doctor keeps saying, low risk, gossip, and that I have high stress/anxiety etc....Which apparently hes seen this sort of situation a lot and is always just a scare...However lightening does strike people. I dont have much anxiety after this latest negative test, just waiting for the 3 months now...Are the rapid oral swab tests pretty accurate at 6 weeks?
Your symptoms are more than likely caused by the stress in thinking about this too much. Get the test at 3 months and go from there.
test at 3 months.
avoid unprotected sex.
there is a risk, although a small one.
