Is Staphylococcus an STD?

My recent urine test showed positive for Staphylococcus. After unprotected intercourse and oral sex with a new girlfriend I soon developed bleeding of the gums and an intermittent light burning in the prostate area. Is Staphylococcus considered an STD and will the antibiotic Microbid kill it?

Thank you.

do a urine culture test, and that will tell you which medicine will work perfectly for you...it will take 3 to 2 days to get the result

I had a recent UTI with staph, and they gave me macrobid.  I was also on bactrim for a staph infection on my skin, and that wasn't helping the UTI, so they gave me macrobid along with the staph.

No. Staph. aureus is not an STD . It is spread by close contact and can be spread by objects such as door handles, shopping cart handles, cell phones, telephones...anything that a person that carries it may touch. Now for everyone`s protection, to avoid getting an infection, good handwashing is the best plan. And no Macrobid is not effective in treating Staph. Take care.
