Is it likely I have this?

I have only had intercourse with 2 women (I'm 21). The first was almost 3 years ago and that lasted about 7 months, and we ALWAYS used protection.  The second has been an on going relationship for the last 2 years and for the duration of that time we have had unprotected sex, however I am her first and only.  (I know there hasn't been anyone else since we've been together).  There hasn't been any sex for the last 2 months (not because of relationship troubles, but because of an injury she sustained that makes most physical tasks very painful.)  Anyway, several nights ago while masturbating (something I've been having to do a lot lately), I noticed a little red spot on the base of penis, right behind the head (I am circumcised).  The reason I noticed it was because of the slight stinging pain that started to occur, but it wasn't that bad so I finished but did notice the more I rubbed it the worse it started to feel. There hasn't been any blistering, puss build up, or drainage of any kind.  It does sting when I try to rub one out, but other than that I don't really notice it. I've been freaking out because I have heard that herpes and syphilis both can lay dormant in your system for a long time before you ever notice.  When urinating I do experience some burning, however it isn't all the time, and it's never severe.  And because it is the first week back at college I have been drinking quite a bit.  Also, I do have a slight callus on the palm side of my thumb where the joint is and it does line up where the red spot on my penis is when holding it.  I asked my girlfriend if she has had symptoms, and has told me she hasn't noticed anything unusual with her.  Is it likely this is herpes or syphilis?  Or did I just rub myself raw?

Really, you need to get it together.  Syphilis sores don't recur like this.

Since you've been treated for ringworm before, you should get this seen, just in case.

I can't seem to get this out of my head and I'm constantly examining myself and I'm pretty sure that's making it worse.  The medication I take for ADHD can have a side affect of anxiety.  Again, I stress that my girlfriend says she hasn't noticed anything unusual with her body, yet I'm still freaking about this. I'm going to see a doctor.  But seriously if my doctor thought I had syphilis and gave me a shot for it, he would have told me right?

No.

I do remember about a year ago, I started having ringworm on the back of my leg and kind of a rash on my stomach.  I went to the doctor and told him I thought I had ringworm, he observed it, didn't say much, left the room.  I'd say 10 minutes or so later a nurse came in, I don't remember exactly how long it's been a year, but she came in with a needle and told me to expose my butt so she could give me a shot.  Then they sent me on my way, they didn't tell me anything.  SO is it possible that syphilis could have flared up and he gave me a shot of penicillin and that I could still have it because I had already given it to my girlfriend and after being cured she just gave it back to me and it's just now flaring up again?  I know that sounds very unlikely and also that I'm very paranoid.  I mean if he had thought it was syphilis and gave me the shot for it, he would have told me right?  I'm being tested tomorrow. Also, I got on that FreeMD site and it said that it could be correlating with Genital Cellulitis, Genital Lymphangitis, or Genital Skin Abcess.  It also states that it doesn't mean these are things I have, they're just the most serious things that I could potentially have.  I'm not crazy, I'm a little worried.  I don't think I have an STD, due to my small number of sexual partners, however the first girl that I was with, I have found out recently was a bit of a lush prior to our sexual encounters.  I did use a condom everytime, but I know those aren't a 100% guarantee.

Did you use lube when you masturbated?

This sounds more like irritation than anything.
