Painful urination, swollen lymph nodes & conjunctivitis

I recently had unprotected sex with a female partner. 10 days later, I initially noticed that the lymph nodes in my groin to the right side, were swollen and painful to the touch so I visited a doctor. At the time, I had no other symptoms but a urine test for chlamydia & gonorrhea were carried out, and came back negative. 2-3 days later, and I started to experience a burning sensation when urinating, and also possible conjunctivitis in both eyes (sticky when i wake up, very red constantly, and watery/streaming. I returned to the doctor (by this time 14 days post sexual encounter) and another more comprehensive urine test was carried out. As I was now symptomatic, I was prescribed 100 doxycycline b.i.d. for 7 days. The urine test has since come back negative for all bacteria, and 3 days into my 7 day course of antibiotics, the dysuria persists and the eye infection no sign of improving, and the lymph nodes still swollen/painful.
My questions:
1. Is 14 days post sexual encounter long enough to yield positive results for all infections incl M.Gen or could it be a force negative?
2. The doctor seems to think the conjunctivitis is coincidental, but I'm not so sure as I've never had it before. What does the community think is likely to be causing dysuria, conjunctivitis & swollen glands.

Thanks for any help.

I’d just like to interject that when I had NGU I had a very mild case of conjunctivitis not to long into it, it didn’t get past the itchy and wake up funk in eye stage and didn’t last more than 2-3days but it was a mild case of it which I thought was odd. I could never correlate it to the NGU

1) you shouldnt self diagnose
2) finish the doxy course, symptoms may take some time to improve
3) if things doesnt improve, go seek help from doctor as it might be other pathogens that doxy cant treat

1) conclusive
2) can be any infection that is not std. Std dont cause such complication until very late stage
3) in response to dave, stds can be asymptomatic. Although the chances are very low

Thanks for reply. I’ve finally heard back from the clinic where I was tested, and they suggest that 3 weeks is required for an accurate M.Gen result.
Either way, I’ve now been taking the Doxy for 3 full days, and no improvement on the dysuria, and likewise my eyes are still bad, and I have the same swelling in lymph nodes.

Hi i will say that with any urertha infection caused by std,s there would be a white puss discharge and painful urination, with out the puss showing up would not indicate an infection.
