Molluscum Contagiosum Spreading

I have MC in my inner thigh, on both sides.  I'm in a monogamous relationship, that's been going on six months or so.  He hasn't gotten any bumps and we have regular (unprotected) sex.  I think (key word here is think) that the bumps appeared around the second month mark in our relationship. What I'm wondering is, will more bumps appear on my body and will it spread past my inner thighs?  Also, is it safe to assume I got it from him?  Once the bumps disappear, will I have developed a full immunity to it?

Absolutely...no one wants to have this in the summer. :(

I've booked an appointment with a dermatologist for next week.  I've never seen a dermatologist before, but do they usually operate as an initial visit being "checking it out" and THEN I have to make a second appointment for actually getting rid of it? Or would me saying another diagnosed me with MC be enough to just continue forth and have this done in one visit?

Also, I recently got a new bump develop that started off as rather big...maybe a little bigger than a pencil eraser. It's the biggest of all my other bumps, but also the newest. In reading online, I tried putting witch hazel and then benzoyl peroxide on all the bumps. I also tried apple cider vinegar and later salycilic acid. Now, I didn't apply all this at once! But what I have noticed is all all my smaller bumps seem to be getting smaller or are less raised off the skin.  But that big, newer bump is now really tender to touch and if my finger nail managed to hit the center of the dimple, it hurts. Did I make something worse...or is this an infection? My appointment isn't for another 4 days so I'm super anxious and would appreciate any insight.

you can have the lesions burnt off with nitrogen, scraped off or you can use a topical like aldara to help speed their healing. A dermatologist at this point is your best bet.

is MC a health issue? no it is not but it is a cosmetic issue as well as you can spread it to others which means then they need treatment too.  who wants to deal with MC lesions all down their legs during shorts weather?

Also, if my primary care doctor doesn't seem to think this is a big deal, what sort of specialist should I seek out for this?  A dermatologist or...?

Now I'm confused, my doctor told me it wasn't a big deal, that it would go away on it's own after a few months, max 2 years.  From reading online, "treatment" seems to be liquid nitrogen...are there some sort of anti-viral pills or something for this?  The last time someone used liquid nitrogen on me, it was for these skin tags on my neck and the skin tags never went away and I had dark bruised spots on my neck for over a year.  I'm hoping there's some sort of alternative option here...?

yes indeed you should expect it to spread if untreated. It usually gets worse before it gets better :(  It can take months or even years to go away on its own.

No, you won't have immunity to it. You can get it over and over again and you and your partner can actually ping pong it back and forth. typically we recommend avoiding sex until it's all been treated and not returned for a few months before resuming sex.

You should see a Dr for treatment. MC can come back. And i beleive it can spread.
