Negative Tests - Still With Symptoms

Hi,

Back in June I stupidly had unprotected vaginal\anal sex with a woman. After the encounter she told me she'd been treated for syphilis in the past but she thought I'd be fine. I've had numerous symptoms since then. I've been tested negative for chlamydia, herpes, gonorrhoea, HIV, Hep B and syphilis.

As I was deemed high risk I was treated for chlamydia and syphilis immediately. My symptoms, which appeared  2-3 weeks after the encounter, (including aching joints, muscles, headache, testes, groin and some discomfort in the tip of my penis - with a "sore" visible in the urethra) didn't improve so I returned to the clinic. A further swab showed some pus cells so I was given Ofloxacin for 2 weeks and I've been retested for all the listed infections above - again negative.

In the UK the clinics have limited testing facilities and have done their best, the consultant thinks I'm fine and has gone as far as saying I could resume unprotected sex if I wanted. TBH I think this would be irresponsible at best, I'm clearly not 100%, this isn't psychosomatic. The clinic has suggested further investigation via the family doctor which is awkward since I know them personally.

Do you have a view on what other STD could be causing these symptoms that I haven't already been tested for or any other advice? I'm probably going to try to sort this out privately so I'd like to go in "prepared".

TIA.
