Oral Gonorreah transmission? Please help...

Recently, my girlfriend of 5 months found out that she is positive for gonorreah, I however went to the gyno at the same exact time and came back completely negative for everything, including the gonorreah. Shes not sure how long shes had it, but knows it came from her ex girlfriend. Recently, had a sore throat and I began to freak out about the test results coming back inconsistent (her being positive and me being negative) I called my OBGYN and he didn't think I needed to be treated, but her GYN strongly urged me to be treated and I wanted to be too. My doctor, however, gave me azithromycin 1gm powder pack and after extensive research and even calling my pharmacist, I'm under the impression (whether correct or incorrect, I'm not sure) that this antibiotic is completely useless against gonorreah. I'm fairly confident the test I took wasn't wrong as she did perform oral sex on me, but only 2x. My real question is about oral gonorreah and whether it's likely or not that I have it. I've also been researching this, and have found that it has a tendency to cure itself, again I don't know how true this is. I really would appreciate some help, as I'm getting very nervous and anxious about the situation. Any information will help. I very much so would like to get the shot in addition to the azithromycin, but not sure if my GYN will do it since it may be an oral infection. (if I wasn't clear, this is a female/female relationship)

the hpv testing you had done was on your cervix only, it doesn't cover external hpv infections. good idea for you both to get the gardasil shot series if you've never had it before. they work best when given early to protect you in the future :)

yes that is enough time to retest to make sure it's gone.

They were all pretty specific my GYN and hers went in depth and the negatives are listed on the papers. Although im not sure exactly the herpes test was. No to the gardasil but we tested negative for HPV. At the time when gardasil was first introduced, we were fairly young and there wasnt enough research done both parents said no to it just in case. She's going back in 3 and I'm going back in 2. Is this sufficient time to be retested to avoid false results...?

First, let me start by saying thank you for your response in this very stressful time for my partner and I, it means a great deal to us. As an update, I went to my doctor today (pediatrician no GYN) and he gave me the ceftriaxone rocehthrin(sp) today and told me that hes very confident anything that MAY HAVE BEEN in my system is most likely going to be wiped out with that. I feel much more at ease also being treated as to not reinfect her. She is contacting her GYN to have a 1, 2 punch of a zpack in addition to the ceftriaxone shot she already had. Yes, we both got tested for everything under the sun chlymidya, herpes, hpv, HIV/aids and hepatitis. We were negative for all and both plan to be retested within the next two weeks to quell our fears. Any other actions we should take, of you wouldn't mind sharing I would appreciate. We just want to be comfortable again with one another. Again, thank you so much for helping in this time of stress

correct, azithromycin without a shot of cetriaxone is wasting your time.

is it likely you have oral gonorrhea? no it is not. it can happen but typically it doesn't.

I 2nd the gyn who thought you should be treated regardless. your partner should also return for retesting a few weeks after treatment too.

did you both cover other std's too?  did you have type specific herpes igg blood testing done too?
