I mean anything that is lasting 2 weeks should be followed up on with your doctor.
Grace, you mean that if its been going on for 2 weeks it can't be STD related? but i read that some stds cause muscle pain even HIV.. is 4 months post possible exposure can still produce muscle pain? sorry if im very persistent :|
your muscle pains are not std related. since they have been going on for 2 weeks, time to be seen by your doctor for a full work up.
GracefromHHP, thanks grace for your reply.. So based on my encounter (protected vaginal penetration/ handjob) i was never at risk for HIV, but is a possible risk for HPV, syphilis and herpes?
I never had the symptoms of syphilis and herpes and its close to 4 months now after the encounter. is it safe to say that i never caught any STD or even HIV?
Can anxiety cause the muscle pains i described?
Thank you grace.
Remorseful1, i feel you brother.. what was your exposure? this muscle pain at first was tolerable, it was just like after workout/gym pain.. but it has been two weeks now and it won't go away, its giving me a hard time to walk fast and it hurts to go up the stairs.. are you taking anything for the pain?
Thanks for the reply Life360, the pain in my calves is like the one you feel after jogging/working out a lot and the pain in my forearms are like throbbing pain.. i take mefenamic acid to relieve the pain but after i wake up the next day its still there. its been going on for two weeks now.. i've been very anxious lately because of my possible exposure last oct 14, 2012 and also because of other things in my life.. can anxiety cause muscle pains like the ones i described?
a hand job isn't a risk for any std.
protected genital sex is a risk for hpv, syphilis and herpes. if you need peace of mind, get tested for syphilis and herpes if you haven't been already.
none of the symptoms you are concerned about at this point are std related. see your doctor or a dermatologist for a proper exam.
grace
I have the exact same symptoms, particularly the pain in the calves and forearms and the red bumps. If you live in a developed country, count yourself lucky because you can just go and get tested for everything tomorrow and save yourself a lot of grief. I didn't have access to gonorrhea/chlamydia testing and my life has basically unraveled over the past few months with the symptoms and uncertainty.
Hi, i would say that yes anxiety can cause this as your body tenses up with anxiety and you could have cramped a muscle which take time to heal. The rash would be best to have a dermatoligist take a look at. When i get these rashes esp on the thigh, i pat on some 1% over the counter corizone cream with aloe and goes away in a couple of days. It an anti inflamatory cream and works really great.
What really worries me now is the muscle pain in my forearms, calves and the back of my knees up to the distal portion of my thighs... i try to sleep it off but it just won't go away.. it's been two weeks now. can anxiety cause this?
You were never at risk from either an STD or HIV from your exposure. The red bumps could be an allergic reaction to the washing powder you're using or any number of things. I'd see a doctor but nothing you've said it related to the sexual encounter you had.
