Pain in poss Testicals/Prostate

for 9 month I have a sharp pain either in my testicals or prostate, that I cannot work out.
It is a sharp pain, I can only say, it feels like how my testicals used too on a cold day. I have tried warming them up, both by sitting near a heater/fire or by stroking them etc ( Internet exercises/advice) but no luck

The pain is on my left side when sitting, but transfers to the right when walking. It's also a sharpish pain.

I am not sexually active and have not been for 3 years. However I first got the pain during masturbation.

My Gp placed me on Doxycycline - they did nothing.

I have had an ultrasound on my testicals. They discovered varicoceles, however the surgeon felt there was no need to operate as the varicoceles weren't big and feels they may not be what is causing the pain.

Any advice or help?
