Penis Rash

Hello,

So I am a 22 year old male, and I have been with my girlfriend for about a year. We had sex for the first time last weekend and when I awoke the next day, something was not right. On the head of my penis there was some red "blotches" with some dryness and irritation... I read a little online and I decided that I would try and do a very detailed cleaning of my "area"... About 4 days later the rash was completely gone and everything was normal... Then again this weekend the same thing happened, we had sexual intercourse and the next morning the rash was back again but this time it looked slightly worse...

I am her first, but she is not my first... I have never had any problems up until now...

One thing I will note is I just finished a round of antibiotics and am now on Advil for jaw pain from having my wisdom teeth removed...

Any ideas...?

Thanks a bunch,

John

they make non-latex condoms. You can find them easily at any drugstore. be sure to use lube with them too - a few drops on you so the condom slides easier and increases your sensitivity and a few drops on the outside so that it's more comfortable for her. Even the lubricated ones don't have enough lube on them.

yes you can get fungal/yeast infections from antibiotic use. As I already said, if it was a yeast issue, you'd have rashes all the time, not just when you have sex.  this sounds more like irritation than anything.

So I guess my girlfriend and I will try using more lube and see if that makes a diffrence... We havent been using condoms because of her latex alergy... I will have to pickup some non-latex ones soon...

I also read somewhere that antibiotics could help produce yeast infections in women... Is that true for men too?

a yeast infection isn't only going to cause symptoms when he has sex. he'd have symptoms in between too consistently.

yes, more lube is often a good idea. Are you using condoms for sex?

We dont use any lube other than what occurs naturaly... Sex doesnt hurt and everything seems to go smoothly (no pun intended)... Do you think that could still be an issue?

are you using lube?  even if she seems wet enough, extra lube never hurts.

this really doesn't sound like a std since it's only occurring when you have sex.
