Hi, I think I have a similar situation to what you had, in fact it sounds like the exact same thing. Did the medicine work and if so do you know what it was called?
yes he definitely said that the course im going to be on should clear it up within 3days. i think its due to it being so small and localized to one location. I cant remember the name of the medicine that il be on but he said that its applied twice daily for 3days, then stopped for 4. if that didnt kill it, then retreat again the next week, but he said one week should be enough. i think he may have mentioned to refrain from sexual contact for 3-4 weeks, although I suppose it depends on how the treatment goes
should also hopefully be in contact with my GP tomorrow so will find out for definite, and hopefully get the cream/solution asap.
in regards to my girlfriend, i was totally honest with her, and were both going to the GUM clinic later this week - she also said that she hasn't noticed anything abnormal on her body which is a good sign.
just be honest with your partner. you can never go wrong with that approach. also ask her if she's had her gardasil shots too.
are you sure the doc said 3 days and the wart will be gone? usually it's up to 3 months with the topicals.
ok so got back from the urology clinic and it appears that i have a form of HPV - condyloma i think it was he said. getting some prescribed medication for it that should clear it up in 3days. my only problem now is how on earth do I tell my girlfriend? i was chatting to the urologist and he informed me of all the implications of the viral infection, especially among females, but he did say that it was unlikely that my girlfriend would contract it - (we have always used a condom) but to just get a check up to be on the safe side.
has anybody had any experiences with this, and how did they break the news to their partners??
well to me it just looks like an abnormal piece of skin, albeit slightly redder. its not even that noticeable, its just when you kind of prise apart the urethra can you really notice it. I've looked at them loads of times, and they're certainly not what I'd expect warts to be like.
the urologist department is seriously messing me about, chopping and changing appointments all the time. think im goin to go and see the doctor monday morning though, and hopefully it'l give me piece of mind
they are offered worldwide actually :)
it can be a std but it also can be normal skin that you are just paying too much attention to. best you can do is to continue to follow up on it. Hopefully you get the appointment with the urologist soon to get better answers.
no ive not had the gardasil shots, or not that im aware of anyway. from research it appears they are only offered in the USA? - im from ireland.
has anybody any idea what they may be? they are just really red and fleshy looking, and have formed just right at the tip of my urethra (or just inside the japs eye). i noticed them in december, and prior to that, the last sexual contact I had was in september, and I used a condom - as I always do.
if they had been any form of STD/STI, would they not have become noticeable long before december?
have you had your gardasil shots yet?
grace
yea, just obviously slightly concerned as its on my penis. but they haven't changed shape or appearance since they first appeared. they're just quite fleshy looking and red, and are just on my jap's eye. but as you said, if my GP seen them and wasn't overly concerned then fingers crossed I should be ok
If you never had unprotected sex then a STD is unlikly and the fact that your Dr did not identify them as herpes or warts is a good sign. Keep your appointment but doubt it is a STD from the above info.
